Woodrow Grove Facility

Woodrow Grove is a 33 bed dual licensed purpose built Care facility mainly catering for a higher level of needs for those who require Hospital care. We have 24 hour Registered Nurse care at Woodrow Grove. We pride ourselves of the training we provide for staff at Maida Vale Retirement Village, and the care our residents receive.

Bedrooms are large with ensuite. Communal areas in the Woodrow Grove Hospital – two lounges and a family room – are spacious and welcoming. Residents can enjoy beautiful gardens which display a variety of colours all year round. Our gardens are home to birds that enjoy splashing in the many birdbaths provided.

A dedicated palliative care room and facility caters for families who would like to stay overnight by provided extra beds, tea and coffee facilities, fridge and small cooking appliances to make their stay comfortable and as stress free as possible.

 

Daily Care Fee (Rest Home/Hospital Level Residents)

The current Rest Home Fee is $197.86 per day and if you are Hospital Level of Care you pay $197.86 and the government will pay the facility the extra funds for hospital care.

Premium Room Charges

If you choose a room with a bathroom and shower than a premium room fee will be charged on a daily rate.

Premium Room Change – price ranges from $17.54 to $35.00 per day.

Care Services

The staff will help you as necessary with all your personal cares. These are determined on your care level needs and will be determined by our own assessment on admission.

  • Bathing and showering
  • Assistance to the toilet
  • Dressing, undressing and grooming;
  • Assistance getting in and out of bed, or moving about the facility.
  • We will help with meals.
  • Help with the supervision or custody and dispensing of medications. We also provide treatments such as eye drops, dressings, etc, when required.
  • Support and care to residents who are requiring palliative care and rehabilitative programmes.

The staff is totally committed to ensure you receive excellent care and attention. They are all trained to care for you and to assist with any problems you may have.

Meals

Breakfast is served to you in your own room. Other meals are served in a communal dining room, but if necessary you are more than welcome to have your meal in the privacy of your room.

All our menus’ have the approval of a Registered Dietitian. Your particular dietary needs will be catered for, and you may invite your friends or visitors to join you for a meal.

 

… Fresh home-cooked meals

Enjoy fresh, nutritional meals prepared daily. We also cater for all special diets and requests. Our menus are dietician approved to ensure that you are receiving a well balanced diet.

We serve breakfast in your room with lunch and dinner in the dining room where you can enjoy the company of other people. Morning, afternoon tea and supper are provided either in communal lounge or conservatory or if you wish in the comfort of your room. Guests are welcome to join you in a cup of tea or meal anytime. (Costs for main meals will be incurred).

Laundry and Cleaning

All linen is supplied and laundered in the facility. The personal clothing of residents is laundered by the facility staff.

The household staff is rostered on daily to ensure all rooms are kept clean and tidy for your comfort.

Social Activities

You are free to continue all your usual social activities such as hobbies, visiting friends, having them visit you, going shopping, or to clubs etc.

The staff may be able to help you continue with these activities if you are finding it difficult to get out, or are in need of appropriate transport.

Additionally, Maida Vale has its own Diversional Therapist sometimes called a Recreation Officer. These staff members will encourage you to take part in such activities and will assist in organising them. They will also be able to offer suggestions on what else you might enjoy.

We do our best to cater for all interests, both inside and outside of the facility. We arrange trips to the theatre, musicals, art classes, garden tours, exercises, cards, housie, luncheons, bowls, crafts, shopping trips, family visits, morning and afternoon teas in town, birthday parties, church services both in the home and in the community, and many more.

Recreation

Maida vale encourages all residents to participate in some form of recreation activity whether that includes continuing community activities or getting involved in Maida Vale’s recreation programme. Maida Vale provides its own Recreation Officers who ensure you are never idle or bored.

We do our best to cater for all interests with a wide range of activities offered from exercises, classes, cards, housie, indoor bowls and craft mornings along with church services. We arrange outings each week which include Aged Concern and regular shopping trips.
